The latest advances and the latest-breaking news in the field of human factors, ergonomics and usability will be presented by leading authorities at the Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics International 2008 and the affiliated HAAMAHA conference, July 14-17, 2008, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, USA.
A total of 623 papers will be presented in 89 interactive sessions in the fields of Medico-ergonomics and Patient Safety, Designing New Buildings and Facilities for End Users, Ergonomics Hazards and Prevention, Users Interface Design, Online Human Error Management, Methods and Instruments for Ergonomic Design of Production Systems, Universal Access to Novel Interaction Environments, Impact of Human Factors on Technical Systems Failure, and Cognitive and Physical Work Analysis and Design.
Dr. Dylan Schmorrow, the Founder and Chairman of the Augmented Cognition International Society and the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Naval Research at the Office of Naval Research will deliver the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the conference, entitled “Revolutions Colliding: The emergence of modern ergonomics, the pioneering of future ergonomics”.
In addition, 6 state-of-the-art tutorials will be presented by some of the most eminent individuals in the Human Factors and Ergonomics field during the pre-conference sessions.
AHFEI International 2008 will also feature relevant technology, products, and services. The 13th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, HCI International 2009, will be held jointly with the affiliated Conferences in the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, in San Diego, California, USA, 19-24 July 2009.
It will cover a broad spectrum of themes related to Human Computer Interaction, including theoretical issues, methods, tools, processes, and case studies in HCI design, as well as novel interaction techniques, interfaces, and applications.
The program will feature, among others: pre-conference half-day and full-day tutorials, parallel sessions, poster presentations, an opening session with a keynote address, and an exhibition including demonstrations by industrial companies.
The Conference Proceedings, comprising the papers to be presented at the Conference, will be published by Springer in a multi-volume set in the LNCS and LNAI series. They will be available on–line through the LNCS Digital Library, readily accessible by all subscribing libraries around the world. All Conference participants will receive in their registration bags the Conference Proceedings published by Springer in DVD format. This DVD will also include, in addition to the papers, the extended abstracts of the posters that will be presented during the Conference. As the DVD will have its own separate ISBN number, posters can also be easily referenced.
The Conference Proceedings in paperback format will be available for purchase by Springer at a special discounted price for all Conference participants, authors and co-authors, both as separate volumes and as a full set.
