Camera-ready extended poster abstracts preparation

Authors of accepted posters are requested to submit their final, camera-ready poster extended abstracts by Friday, 25 March 2011, via the Conference Management System (CMS).

According to the Registration Regulation for HCI International 2011, inclusion of posters in the Proceedings is conditional  upon unique registration of one author per poster by Friday, 25 March 2011.

Conference Proceedings Guidelines

Authors should submit a signed Copyright Form as a scanned PDF through the CMS, at the same time with the camera-ready paper submission. One author may sign on behalf of all of the other authors of a particular paper. The field "Volume Editor(s)" should be left blank - it will be filled-in by the Conference Organizers at a later stage.

Camera-ready poster extended abstracts should be absolute minimum four (4) pages and absolute maximum five (5) pages long, written in the format of a self contained short research paper and submitted in both DOC and PDF format. If an extended abstract is not submitted according to the above guidelines, the poster will not be included in the Conference Proceedings, but can still be presented during the Conference.

All authors are kindly asked to follow the Springer LNCS formatting guidelines for the preparation of their manuscripts. This file can be also used as a template for the preparation of the camera ready abstracts.

Production of the camera-ready paper will be a much smoother process if authors make use of the available MS Word template, which incorporates all the recommended formatting guidelines:

  • Template supporting the programs MS Word for Windows 7 (Win 95), 97, 2000, 2003
  • Template supporting MS Office 2007/2010 Word and MS Word for Macintosh

Instructions for using the author template are also available:

  • Instructions for the programs MS Word for Windows 7 (Win 95), 97, 2000, 2003 and MS Word for Macintosh.
  • Instructions for MS Office 2007/2010 Word

Note: In MS Word 2007/2010 macros are disabled by default unless the template containing them is loaded from a so-called "trusted location". Usually several trusted locations are created during the installation of Word 2007/2010 by default:

1. [drive]\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates
2. [drive]\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Startup
3. [drive]\Users\[User name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

Please copy the template file to one of those folders and load it from there. Now the LNCS macro ribbon should be both visible and functional.

Alternatively you could set the macro security level in the "Trust Center" to "Enable all macros" (see the detailed instructions). For security reasons, this adjustment should only be considered as a temporary setting.

Please contact the Program Administrator for any further information or clarifications.
